Men's basketball • Jeremy Senglin scored a career-high 25 points and Weber State picked up its first road victory, beating Northern Arizona 74-65 on Thursday night.

Senglin made three of Weber State's eight 3-pointers and sank 12 of 15 free throws to help the Wildcats (8-8, 3-2 Big Sky) get the elusive road win on their sixth try. Weber State won for the seventh straight time at Flagstaff. Joel Bolomboy had 16 points and 12 rebounds for his sixth double-double this season. Richaud Gittens added 10 points.

Kris Yanku scored a season-high 27 points, Ako Kaluna 16 and Quinton Upshur 14 for the Lumberjacks (7-10, 2-2). Aaseem Dixon, who came in with nine straight double-figure games, was scoreless.

A 12-3 run to end the first half gave Weber State a 30-23 lead. It led by 13 with 3:25 left. NAU was within five with a minute left before Senglin made four straight free throws.

SUU 71, Idaho State 67 • Casey Oliverson had 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting with eight rebounds as Southern Utah defeated Idaho State on Thursday to earn its first Big Sky Conference win of the season.

A.J. Hess added 14 points, Travon Langston chipped in 12 and Trey Kennedy had 11 to put four of five starters in double figures for the Thunderbirds (4-11, 1-3). Southern Utah shot 51 percent from the field in snapping a four-game skid. Hess drilled a 3-pointer to grab the lead for good with 3:10 left. Kennedy hit two free throws and a layup and Langston made a jumper in between to make it 70-63 with 33 seconds left.

Weber women claim first conference win

Women's basketball • The Wildcats never trailed in beating the Lumberjacks 66-53 for their first Big Sky Conference win on Thursday.

Junior Britney Dunbar led the Wildcats with a career-high 12 points, followed by junior Regina Okoye's 11 on the night. Weber State shot 38.6 percent from the field, 35.3 percent from the three and 76.2 percent from the free throw line. Weber State pulled down 39 rebounds to NAU's 37.
