Gonzaga crushes Pacific, wins 22nd straight WCC opener

Spokane, Wash. • Rui Hachimura scored 19 points, Josh Perkins added 16, and No. 20 Gonzaga beat Pacific 81-48 on Thursday night, winning its 22nd consecutive West Coast Conference opener.

Zach Norvell Jr. scored 13 points for Gonzaga (11-3, 1-0 West Coast), which has beaten Pacific 11 consecutive times.

Jahlil Tripp scored nine points to lead Pacific (5-9, 0-1), which has lost five games in a row.

No. 23 Seton Hall 90, No. 25 Creighton 84 • In Newark, N.J., Khadeen Carrington hit a go-ahead layup with 2:05 to play and Seton Hall rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit in the Big East Conference opener for both schools.

Desi Rodriguez led the Pirates (12-2, 1-0 Big East) with 23 points. Carrington finished with 18, Myles Powell had 17 and Angel Delgado added 18 points and 14 rebounds before fouling out late.

Martin Krampelj had a career-high 23 points and 10 rebounds for Creighton (10-3, 0-1), which had a five-game winning streak snapped. Marcus Foster, who hurt his right leg early, finished with 14, but only two in the second half. Khyri Thomas had 13 for the Bluejays, who did not score in the final 3:32.
