Each week, we’ll recap notable performances from local BYU, Utes, USU and SUU alumni in the NFL. Here’s what stood out from Week 13 of the 2017 NFL season:
New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons (Atlanta won, 20-17)
• Saints safety Marcus Williams (Utah) had five tackles, one assist and an interception returned for 12 yards in 71 defensive snaps.
• Saints QB Taysom Hill (BYU) played 11 special teams snaps.
• Falcons DE Derrick Shelby (Utah) had one tackle in 23 defensive snaps and four special teams snaps.
Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers (Carolina won, 31-24)
• Panthers DT Star Lotulelei (Utah) had one tackle assist in 45 defensive snaps and six special teams snaps.
• Panthers WR Kaelin Clay (Utah) returned one punt for seven yards in three offensive snaps and five special teams snaps.
Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City won, 26-15)
• Chiefs QB Alex Smith (Utah) completed 20 of 34 passing attempts for 268 yards and an interception. He also had five rushing attempts for 24 yards in all 75 offensive snaps.
• Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen (BYU) had two tackles in all 61 defensive snaps and nine special teams snaps.
• Raiders CB Sean Smith (Utah) had one tackle in 74 defensive snaps.
• Raiders safety Keith McGill (Utah) played 12 defensive snaps and 25 special teams snaps.
• Raiders OT Donald Penn (USU) played all 61 offensive snaps.
• Raiders LB James Cowser (SUU) had three tackles and an assist in 22 defensive snaps and 19 special teams snaps.
San Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans (San Francisco won, 26-16)
• 49ers OT Zane Beadles (Utah) played all 73 offensive snaps and three special teams snaps.
Green Bay Packers at Cleveland Browns (Green Bay won, 27-21)
• Packers RB Jamaal Williams (BYU) had 15 rushing attempts for 49 yards and a touchdown. He also had seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown in 50 offensive snaps.
• Packers LB Kyler Fackrell (USU) had two tackles and a sack in 30 defensive snaps and 20 special teams snaps.
• Packers safety Marwin Evans (USU) played 21 special teams snaps.
• Browns DE Nate Orchard (Utah) had a tackle, two assists and a sack in 22 defensive snaps and three special teams snaps.
• Browns safety Kai Nacua (BYU) had five tackles in 75 defensive snaps and three special teams snaps.
Detroit Lions at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Detroit won, 24-21)
• Lions CB Nevin Lawson (USU) had one tackle in 46 defensive snaps and 11 special teams snaps.
• Lions safety Miles Killebrew (SUU) played three defensive snaps and 17 special teams snaps.
• Lions DE Ezekiel Ansah (BYU) had six tackles, an assist and a sack in 38 defensive snaps.
• Buccaneers DT Sealver Siliga (Utah) had one tackle assist in 17 defensive snaps and nine special teams snaps.
New York Jets at Denver Broncos (Denver won, 23-0)
• Broncos RB Devontae Booker (Utah) had nine rushing attempts for 22 yards and two catches for 12 yards in 27 offensive snaps and nine special teams snaps.
• Broncos OT Garett Bolles (Utah) played all 70 offensive snaps and six special teams snaps.
Tennessee Titans at Arizona Cardinals (Arizona won, 12-7)
• Titans CB LeShaun Sims (SUU) had two tackles in 24 defensive snaps and six special teams snaps.
• Titans CB Brice McCain (Utah) played 22 defensive snaps and eight special teams snaps.
• Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (USU) had 20 rushing attempts for 73 yards and one catch for 15 yards in 38 offensive snaps.
Washington at Los Angeles Chargers (Los Angeles won, 30-13)
• Chargers DT Tenny Palepoi (Utah) had three tackles in 14 defensive snaps and seven special teams snaps.
• Chargers CB Michael Davis (BYU) had one tackle assist in one defensive snap and 22 special teams snaps.
• Chargers OT Sam Tevi (Utah) played 13 offensive snaps and eight special teams snaps.
• Washington OG Tony Bergstrom (Utah) played all 50 offensive snaps and two special teams snaps.
• Washington LB Zach Vigil (USU) had seven tackles and two assists in 67 defensive snaps and eight special teams snaps.
Seattle Seahawks at Jacksonville Jaguars (Jacksonville won, 30-24)
• Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner (USU) had two tackles and an assist in 31 defensive snaps and two special teams snaps.
Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers (Pittsburgh won, 39-38)
• Ravens safety Eric Weddle (Utah) had three tackles and three assists in all 89 defensive snaps.
• Steelers CB Brian Allen (Utah) played 15 special teams snaps.
