Women's basketball • Senior forward Taryn Wicijowski just missed her third double-double of the season Saturday with 18 points and nine rebounds, but the University of Utah women's basketball team fell in a 58-50 decision to Portland in the third game of the Nugget Classic in Reno, Nevada.

Utah (1-4) held a 20-2 edge in points off turnovers as the Utes committed only five turnovers in the contest, compared to 18 for the Pilots.

Redshirt sophomore Paige Crozon turned in seven points along with four rebounds, while senior guard Cheyenne Wilson connected on a pair of three-point field goals for six points. Freshman forward Tanaeya Boclair added four points.

Marist 68, Utah State 65 • Career games from two freshmen and a new starting lineup weren't enough to give Utah State women's basketball the edge Saturday in the second game of the Basketball Travelers, Inc. Classic as the Aggies fell to Marist 68-65 in Waco, Texas.

Junior guard Makenlee Williams led the Aggies in scoring, netting 18 points. Two Aggie newcomers had career-best games as freshman Hannah Hutchins played 25 minutes, scoring 16 points. She also led the team in rebounds, recording a career best seven boards.

Freshman Funda Nakkasoglu also scored in double digits, with a career-best 15 points.

No. 19 Oregon 71, BYU 61 • Despite a career night from Morgan Bailey, BYU women's basketball fell 71-61 to No. 19 Oregon State on Saturday to conclude the Tom Weston Invitational in Laie, Hawaii.

Bailey contributed a career-high 26 points in addition to leading the team in rebounds with nine. Kylie Maeda and Lexi Eaton added a team-high four assists apiece, while Eaton also collected double-digit points, adding 19. Makenzi Morrison contributed 10 points to round out the top three scorers.

Eastern Michigan 57, Weber State 42 • The Weber State University women's basketball team lost 57-42 to Eastern Michigan on Saturday in Ogden in its last game of the annual Hotel Encanto Thanksgiving Classic.

Senior guard Brianna Averette led the Wildcats with 12 points. Freshman Jocelyn Adams had a career high of eight points. Junio Jalen Carpenter had nine rebounds for the. Averette, Adams and junior Regina Okoye had six rebounds each.
