St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands • Weber State's trip to paradise ended in victory on Monday.

Jeremy Senglin buried the go-ahead 3-pointer with 19 seconds remaining, lifting the Wildcats to a 59-56 win over Nevada at the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam.

Senglin finished with 16 points and Joel Bolomboy added 13, including two free throws with five seconds left to help Weber State salvage its final game in the eight-team tournament.

"It was a great team win for us and I was really proud of how hard we fought and how we competed," said WSU coach Randy Rahe. "We couldn't get a lot of looks, but we were able to find a way to win the game. A lot of guys really stepped up and contributed for us to pull it out. Our team grew up and got tougher today and that's what we needed."

Michael Perez led Nevada with 15 points, but committed a costly turnover with six seconds remaining, when the Wolf Pack trailed by only one.

Perez's 3-point shot with 1:54 left had given Nevada a 55-53 lead.

After Senglin and the Wolf Pack's Coleman Marqueze traded free throws, Weber State's sophomore point guard wiped out the 56-54 deficit with his huge 3-point shot.

Nevada's chance to regain the lead ended on Perez's turnover. Bolomboy followed by making two free throws and the Wildcats escaped when Marqueze missed a jumper at the buzzer.

Bolomboy, Weber State's junior forward, grabbed eight rebounds in the game. He passed Gene Visscher for eighth place on the school's all-time list.

The game was the 40th between the former Big Sky Conference rivals, but it was their first meeting in 11 years. Nevada is now a member of the Mountain West. —
