Savannah, Ga. • Animal control officers say a 10-week-old kitten that was thrown off a bridge and survived is recovering at an animal shelter, and police are seeking the person who tossed him.
The kitten is being called "Nemo" by caregivers at the Savannah animal shelter where he's recovering after Thursday's ordeal, said Julian Miller, a spokesman with Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan police. Miller visited the cat at the shelter Friday, and says he's expected to survive.
"No broken bones," Miller said. "He has several lacerations over and below his eye and his chin."
"The cat is very, very shy right now, and trying to find things to hide under, not very trusting," Miller added.
