Missoula, Mont. • A SkyWest Airlines airplane headed for Salt Lake City slid off the main runway at Missoula International Airport in Montana on Tuesday morning, as freezing rain and icy roads were reported in the area.

SkyWest spokeswoman Marissa Snow says the nose gear of the Canadair regional jet went off the side of the runway as it was taxiing out just after 8:30 a.m.

No one on Delta Connection Flight 4600 was injured. Snow says the 44 passengers and three crew members were bused back to the airport. The airline was trying to reschedule the passengers on other flights.

Airport officials say the slide-off temporarily closed the main runway.

The National Weather Service had issued a winter weather advisory for freezing rain and slick roads Tuesday morning.
