22 million people nationwide have voted early

Washington • About 22 million people have already voted in the upcoming election, either by mail or in person. No votes will be counted until Nov. 6, but some key states are releasing the party affiliation of those who have voted.

Votes: 1.3 million

Democrats: 35 percent

Republicans: 38 percent

Florida

Votes: 3.1 million

Democrats: 42 percent

Republicans: 41 percent

Iowa

Votes: 557,000

Democrats: 43 percent

Republicans: 32 percent

Nevada

Votes: 578,000

Democrats: 44 percent

Republicans: 38 percent

North Carolina

Votes: 2.1 million

Democrats: 48 percent

Republicans: 32 percent

Ohio

Votes: 1.3 million

Democrats: 30 percent

Republicans: 24 percent
