BYU rallied for a 4-3, 11th-inning victory at Smith's Ballpark on Tuesday, thwarting Utah's attempt to avenge a 20-3 drubbing in the teams' first meeting earlier this month.

Brock Whitney singled, Jarrett Jarvis followed one out later with another single while Whitney was stealing second, and then with runners on first and third, Parker Starr executed a squeeze play to plate Whitney ahead of T.J. Bennett's frantic flip.

Brandon Kinser (2-2) allowed just one hit and one walk in four innings of relief, striking out five to get the win. Nick Green (0-1) took the loss for the U., which squandered a 6-inning, four-hit, no-walk performance from starter Dalton Carroll.

Whitney went 3-for-5 with three RBIs on the night. Shortstop Cory Hunt led the Utes at the plate in going 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

The two teams next meet May 6 for their third of four games this season.
