The No. 3 Oregon Ducks completed a series sweep of the Utah softball team Monday, hammering the Utes 14-3 at Utah Softball Stadium.

The Ducks blew the game open with seven runs in the third inning, then scored six more in the fifth. Oregon (26-3, 3-0 Pac-12) received a five-inning, five-hit effort from starter Cheridan Hawkins, who yielded one run while striking out 10.

Freshman second baseman Hannah Flippen had two hits, while senior designated player Taylor Jordan and freshman shortstop Anissa Urtez both drove in runs for the Utes (11-13, 1-4).

Men's golf

In Emerald Valley, Ore., Utah's Jonathon Thomas was in a five-way tie for 15th place at 2-over 146 after the second round of the Duck Invitational, helping put the Utes at ninth place in the team standings.

Men's tennis

In Las Vegas, Southern Utah earned its second singles victory of the season when Alex Dial beat Idaho State's Austin Miller. Dial won his first set 6-3 and was awarded the victory after Miller withdrew because of an injury. Idaho State won the match 6-1.
