Utah's Jan. 25 home gymnastics meet against UCLA will be a showdown between the teams expected to be the best in the league after the two were picked Nos. 1 and 2 in the Pac-12 preseason poll.

The Bruins were voted No. 1 for the third straight year with 46 points, while Utah was right behind with 45 points.

UCLA received five first-place votes and the Utes received three.

Stanford was third with 37 points followed by Oregon State (31), Arizona (22), Washington (18), Cal (17) and Arizona State (8).

Oregon State won the title last year followed by UCLA and Utah. Cal is hosting the Pac-12 Championships on March 22.

Utah opens its season Jan. 11 against BYU, SUU and Boise State and competes in its first league meet Jan. 17 at Cal. —
