Utah's softball team announced the signings of four players while volleyball announced three as the fall signing period continues.
Signing to play for the Utes' softball team in 2014-15 are Heather Bowen, Katie Donovan, Sam Glantz and Miranda Viramontes.
Bowen led her high school to back-to-back state titles while Donovan is a standout pitcher who led South Salem H.S. in Oregon to second-place finishes in 2012 and 2011.
Glantz is a catcher who hails from Northridge, Calif., and is known for her solid hitting. Viramontes, from Chino, Calif., won 21 consecutive starts as a pitcher and finished with five no-hitters.
Softball coach Amy Hogue put high expectations on the class.
"They are a group that can come in and put this team in the Top 25 for their entire career," she said.
Joining Utah's volleyball team are outside hitters Adora Anae, Eliza Katoa and Emma Kirst.
Anae, from Laie, Hawaii, is ranked No. 79 on PrepVolleyball.com's Senior ace list and is known as a versatile player. Katoa, from Layton, was a team captain in 2012 and 2013 and an AVCA Under Armour Honorable Mention All-American.
Kirst, a 6-foot-4 hitter from Bishop Gorman H.S. in Las Vegas, had 581 career kills.
"All of these players bring a high level of athleticism and volleyball experience to our program," coach Beth Launiere said. "All three are talented and have the ability to make an impact not only on our program, but in the Pac-12 Conference as well."
