Utah women’s basketball: Utes fall to Oregon State

Michelle Plouffe poured in 27 points and notched 12 assists, but the Utes fell to Oregon State in Corvallis.

Utah (16-10, 7-10 Pac-12) shot just 27.3 percent from the field in the second half and made only 6 of 12 free throws in the game.

The Beavers rallied from a 29-20 halftime deficit to outscore the Utes 34-17 in the second half. Utah’s 13 turnovers turned into 17 points for Oregon State (10-19, 4-13), and the Beavers outscored Utah in the paint 30-16.

Plouffe went 11 of 20 overall and 3 of 5 on 3-pointers in 38 minutes, but only three other Utes scored, and no one had more than seven. Three Oregon State players scored in double digits.
