Utah's seventh-ranked gymnastics team will find out what life is like without star Corrie Lothrop as it takes on No. 23 Cal tonight at the Huntsman Center.

Lothrop, the defending Pac-12 all-around champion, was lost for the season a week ago when she tore her Achilles tendon in Utah's win over Arizona State.

The Utes should get a boost from Kassandra Lopez, who will compete on the balance beam for the first time this year.

Lopez, predicted to be one of Utah's top gymnasts this season, has been working her way into the lineup as she recovers from a lower leg strain.

Utah is 9-0 against Cal, including a 4-0 record in the Huntsman Center.
