The Utah softball program received committments from athletes, the first post-Pac-12 class to join the Utes, coached by Amy Hogue.
Bridget Castro, Sammy Cordova, Hannah Flippen, Bella Secaira, Autumn Shipp, Anissa Urtez and Maddy Woodard will enroll at Utah next fall.
"We have seven signees, which that's the biggest class we have put together. It's also the first recruiting class that we had committed after the Pac-12 announcement," Hogue said. "The quality of athletes that we have access to is getting better and better. Our hope is that the program will continue to rise as well."
Woodward led Salt Lake Community College with 16 home runs last season and was named the SWAC Player of the Year as well as being named as a NJCAA First-Team All American.
"I believe she can play anywhere on the field," Hogue said about the Murray resident. "She has the ability to hit multiple home runs, steal multiple bases and hit for average. A middle infielder for SLCC, but has also played the corners. She is an extremely talented and versatile athlete. Being a junior, I expect her to help lead this incoming group of freshmen."
