Pasadena, Calif. •John White might be healthy, but Utah's run game is still ailing.

White, who was slowed earlier in the year by an ankle injury, failed to find any running room against the Bruins, who have been giving up 159.7 yards on the ground.

White, who is averaging 75.2 yards a game, rushed for just 44 yards on 11 carries in Saturday's loss to the UCLA Bruins.

White, whose only carry in the second half came on the Utes' first drive, was clearly unhappy following the game.

Asked if he thought he had enough touches, White responded that he goes with whatever offensive coordinator Brian Johnson decides.

"Whatever coach Brian Johnson wants to do, I'm going to go with, so I have nothing to say on it," he said.

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham admitted following the game that White probably should have gotten more touches.

The senior back entered Saturday's game averaging 19.5 carries.

"Last year, he was getting 30 touches a game, and maybe we need to get back to giving him a much heavier workload," Whittingham said.

Backup running back Kelvin York had four carries for 18 yards.

One good moment

Corner Ryan Lacy gave the Utes one of the few plays to celebrate Saturday when he recovered a fumbled punt return in the end zone.

The touchdown was a first for the senior, who credited teammate Reggie Topps for tackling a UCLA player who was about to recover the ball.

"I just dove on it," he said. "It was an effort play by both of us."

It was the third touchdown the Utes have scored off fumble recoveries this season, with the others coming against BYU and USC.

Of note

UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley's 14 touchdown passes are the most by a UCLA quarterback since Drew Olson set UCLA's single-season record with 34 touchdown passes. ... UCLA was 9-for-15 on third-down conversions after entering the game 33-for-94, while the Utes were 6-for-13 and 22-for-74 entering the game.

Utah's top RB gets only 44 yards on 11 carries vs. Bruins.
