Utes football: RB Langi to serve LDS Church mission

Utah running back Harvey Langi will go on an LDS Church mission in July, the football team announced Saturday morning.

Langi, who would have been heading into his sophomore year, leaves for his mission after a strong spring camp. But Utah's running back depth with John White IV and Kelvin York likely would have presented limited opportunities for him to see the field.

He has received his call to Tampa, Fla. Langi will leave July 25.

Langi was one of Utah's top rated recruits out of Bingham High School, but struggled at times during his freshman season. He had 13 carries for 70 yards last fall.
