Utah men's basketball coach Larry Krystkowiak continues to tab local coaches to round out his staff, hiring Norm Parrish, who has spent the last 20 years as the head coach at Salt Lake Community College, as his Director of Basketball Operations.

Parrish served as Utah's graduate assistant in 1988-89.

Two years ago SLCC won the NJCAA national title and a second consecutive Region 19 championship.

Parrish is a five-time Region 18 Coach of the Year.

In addition, Utah has received commitments from Kareem Storey, a 6-foot point guard out of Baltimore, and Cedric Martin, a 6-4 sophomore at Lee College, in Baytown, Texas.

The news is not all good for the Utes. Sophomore Shawn Glover, who averaged 6.2 points and 3.6 rebounds, has been granted permission to talk to schools outside of Utah and the Pac-12, joining J.J. O'Brien in exploring his options.

Will Clyburn already has announced he is transferring to Iowa State and freshman Preston Guiot is headed to Southwest Baptist.

Backups Chris Kupets and Antonio DiMaria also are transferring.
