The University of Utah has accepted an invitation to host the 2012 Pac-12 Gymnastics Championship in its inaugural year as a conference member, Utah co-head coach Greg Marsden announced Thursday.
The meet is scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 24, 2012.
The seven Pac-12 schools that sponsor gymnastics (Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah and Washington) will participate in the 2012 Pac-10 Championship. The meet's format will consist of one session with three bye rotations.
"We are honored for the opportunity to host the Pac-12 Gymnastics Championship in our first year of participation as a conference member," said Marsden. "We anticipate that our great fan support will help further the distinction of what is already one of the most prestigious events in NCAA Gymnastics."
Utah is the nation's attendance leader in women's gymnastics, averaging over 11,000 fans per meet for the past 20 years, including an NCAA record 14,213 average a year ago, when Utah became the first team other than basketball to win a women's collegiate season attendance title.
