While talent certainly has something to do with winning, there must be some advantage to living in a place where you can play golf all year long.
Desert Hills, based in the golf hotbed of Washington County, successfully defended its Class 3A golf title Thursday at West Jordan’s Mountain View golf course, defeating St. George Rival Dixie by six shots and Park City by 12.
The Thunder’s Katie Perkins also defended her state medalist title. She fired a three-under 69 to beat Dixie’s Gracie Richins and teammate Megan Welch by three shots. Kyla Smith finished sixth for Desert Hills.
