Manti opens the busy first day of the three-day tournament against Region 13 fourth-place team Kanab on Thursday at 2 p.m., at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex, where the event is being held.

There are 16 first- and second-round games scheduled Thursday with the first games beginning at noon . Winners of first-round contests will play at 6 p.m., while losers all play at 4 p.m.

Defending champion San Juan captured first place in Region 15 and will open its title defense against Parowan.
