Commuting on I-80? Might want to leave early, or detour

Commuters coming into Salt Lake Valley through Parleys Canyon Friday were advised to add some extra time for their trips: Interstate 80 is restricted to one lane through the area due to road repair work.

The Utah Department of Transportation advised drivers not keen on delays of up to two hours to detour onto Interstate 84 or U.S. 40.

The work, on a stretch of westbound I-80 between mile posts 134 to 133 and East Canyon to Mountain Dell, was expected to be done by 4 p.m. Friday.
