From the time players take the field to the time they empty the dugouts, only a few hours have passed.
But anyone who stays to watch those few hours go by can witness amazing transformations, maturation, often consistent improvement from start to finish.

Three juniors and a sophomore earned The Tribune’s all-state softball MVP honors this season. Many of the players on the all-state teams selected by the state’s coaches are sophomores and juniors.
The players honored in these pages had huge shoes to fill. They had to grow up, toughen up or just straighten up to be the leaders their teams needed in the most dire moments of the season.
They answered the call when needed.
