The Layton Christian Eagles survived a scare from the underdog Tigers, never letting Tabiona’s upset bid get enough traction.
After trailing by double digits, Tabiona closed the gap to just three points a number of times in the fourth quarter. However, the Tigers just couldn’t get over the hump, and Layton Christian made them pay in the final minutes from the foul line.
The Eagles advance to tonight’s semifinal at 6 p.m., where they will meet Rich, who beat Green River 62-49 in Thursday’s night cap.
