Olympus coach Matt Barnes noticed that his players were lacking. They looked a little slow. And being that the first round of any tournament is the most dangerous for a higher seed, he switched things up at halftime.
The energy Olympus generated in the second-half of a 51-37 win over Bonneville in Monday’s Class 4A first-round win can be attributed to pressure defense, the willingness to get out and run and the reluctance to surrender offensive rebounds.

Speeding the game up erased much of Bonneville’s chance at an upset. For the Titans, the more possessions they received, the better.
"We were hesitant to use the pressure because teams were breaking it too easily and scoring on us," Barnes said. "Today, we got some stops, we got some turnovers and it worked for us. That first-round game is always tough, be we’re happy to get through it."
With the win, Olympus advances to Wednesday’s quarterfinal round. The Titans received big games from Will Cannon and Parker Rawlings. Cannon had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Rawlings also notched a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Nick Barney had 11 points for Olympus as well.
