St. George • Lancee Whetman, Monique Mills and Alexa Mortenson all scored in double figures to lead Juan Diego to a 47-36 victory over Bear River on Friday in the consolation bracket of the Class 3A girls’ basketball tournament at Dixie State College.
The Soaring Eagle started with a strong 17-point first-quarter, after a disappointing effort in the quarterfinals Thursday against Juab. They will play Morgan for fifth place Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Dixie High School. Morgan beat Carbon 55-50 in another consolation game on Friday.
