1. Lone Peak » Great showing in Myrtle Beach, but still too reliant on the 3-pointer

2. West Jordan » Taking a break while the teams around it are getting tournament experience

3. American Fork » Still doesn’t have an in-state loss, and is attacking zone defenses better

4. Weber » None of their wins are eye-popping, but Warriors are keeping consistent

5. Riverton » They’re a bit hot-or-cold, but beating West Jordan is a promising sign

Class 4A

1. Orem » It will be telling to see how Tigers come off long holiday break

2. Sky View » Jalen Moore is coming into his own this year as a scorer

3. Highland » On a five-game winning streak as they get toward a tough region

4. Mountain Crest » Ripped off a good string of wins, including over Weber

5. Springville » Has yet to beat a 4A team, but there’s a good track record here

Class 3A

1. Desert Hills » Two overtime games in preseason should pay dividends later

2. Payson » Went only 2-2 in California, but didn’t get blown out by anybody

3. Cedar » Losses to Skyline and Westlake humbled Cedar a bit

4. Carbon » Jordan Blanc leads the team in scoring and rebounds

5. Park City » Finished its preseason strong with three straight wins
