Consider Parker Posey the queen of the indies, or the Sundance poster girl. How many Sundance Film Festivals has she attended?

"Seventy-five, I think," she said, adding that she started coming "back in the prairie days."

Live from Park City, it’s the 2012 Sundance Film Festival awards ceremony!

He’ll be live tweeting from Park City’s Basin Recreation Field House during the 7 p.m. event Saturday, Jan. 28. Parker Posey — who has appeared in more than a dozen Sundance films, including this year’s “Price Check,” screening in the out-of-competition Premieres section — is the host. Awards for short films were announced at a separate ceremony on Jan. 24, and listed on blogs.sltrib.com/sundance.

The actor is back this year as one of the stars of "Price Check," which premiered on Wednesday night. And she said being at Sundance does feel like a homecoming. But you know what they say about not being able to go home again.

"The business has changed so dramatically," Posey said. "The culture has changed so dramatically. So it’s not what it used to be."

Mostly because Sundance isn’t the small, intimate film festival it once was. "It’s gotten a lot bigger," Posey said. "There are pros and cons to that. I’m just grateful that it even exists."

Unlike many actors, Posey will be at Sundance through this weekend, as she’s hosting the awards on Saturday night.

"What? What are you talking about?" she said in mock surprise. "I’m hosting awards? What do you mean? Do I have to cook?"

Well, um, no. I don’t think so.

"OK, I’ll do it," Posey said.

She admitted it will be a little out of her comfort zone, but she didn’t seen overly concerned.

"I’m an actor. I’ve been onstage," Posey said. "I’m hoping that will click in and I’ll be able to be myself. And relate to everybody there at this very special time in their lives."
