Utah State linebacker LT Filiaga is in a unique situation this week as the Aggies prepare to face BYU on Friday. The game will mark the third time he has faced BYU, and the second time in a different uniform. Filiaga played for the Utes in 2012 and 2013 before transferring to Utah State this season. But whether he is wearing red or Aggie blue, his opinion of BYU is the same. "It might seem a little weird," he said. "But honestly, BYU has always been the enemy since I started my career and they still are. We need to go in and fight and treat them as a rival." Filiaga didn't play in the Utes' 20-13 win last season, but did record six tackles and a forced fumble in the 2012 win, a 24-21 decision. Getting another shot at the Cougars in Provo is an opportunity he is excited for, he said. "I love the vibe and hype down there and playing in front of those fans," he said. "It's a great feeling." Filiaga expects plenty of playing time on Friday since he has emerged as a major player for the Aggies. He is fourth on the team with 26 tackles and has two fumble recoveries. Those are the kind of stats he wasn't getting for the Utes last year, which led to his decision to transfer. He played in only four games, finishing with just three tackles. "I didn't feel like I was being used to the best of my abilities so I decided to move on," he said. "I came up here and everything has gone up from there." Expected to be a big factor for the Aggies, Filiaga earned an even bigger role when the Aggies lost linebacker Kyler Fackrell to a season-ending injury. His play has helped make up for the loss. Now he is eager to get down to Provo and face a school he is familiar with, not that he is in the mood for much reminiscing. "All I can think about is how to contain Taysom Hill and make them a one-dimensional team," he said.
