West Valley City • The Utah Grizzlies have signed rookie forward Camden Wojtala and goaltender Kevin Kapalka, coach and general manager Tim Branham announced Monday.

Wojtala is from Bowling Green, where he was team captain during his junior and senior seasons. He totaled 27 goals and 41 assists in 156 games during his college career.

"Cam is a big body who skates very well," said Branham. "He is excellent in the face-off circle and a solid two-way player. He will fit in very nicely with our team."

Kapalka went 2-1 with the Idaho Steelheads last season after completing his college career at Lake Superior State University. He went 47-45-15 at Lake Superior with nine shutouts and a 2.62 goals-against-average.

"Kevin is a pro," Branham said. "His work ethic is unmatched and he strives to improve every day. His college stats speak for themselves."

According to Branham, Kapalka will challenge Aaron Dell for the job as the Grizzlies' No. 1 goaltender.

Utah opens the 2014-2015 regular season on Oct, 17 at Maverik Center against Idaho.
