Weber’s Florence, SUU’s Cowser named preseason all-Big Sky

Park City • Weber State cornerback Deon’tae Florence and Southern Utah defensive end James Cowser have been named to the Big Sky Conference’s preseason all-league team.

Florence is a senior from Largo, Fla. He transferred from Boise State last season and finished second in the Big Sky in interceptions with four. He also broke up eight passes and had 30 tackles.

Cowser is a 6-foot-4, 244-pound junior from Davis High School. He finished last season with 19 tackles-for-a-loss and 10.5 sacks — second in the Big Sky in both categories.

Eastern Washington junior quarterback Vernon Adams was named the preseason Most Valuable Player on offense. Montana senior end Zack Wagenmann was named the preseason MVP on defense.
