Bees fall to Chihuahuas

The Bees jumped out to an early 3-0 lead Sunday night in El Paso, Texas, but they couldn’t hang on, and fell 5-4 to the Chihuahuas.

Luis Jimenez and John Hester both drove in home runs for the Bees, but no Salt Lake player had more than one hit.

Justin Thomas allowed eight hits through five innings, but Kyler Newby earned the loss, with three hits, one strikeout and one earned run through two innings.

Each team committed only one error, and El Paso outhit Salt Lake 12-7.

The Bees won the first two of a three-game series against the Chihuahuas, and they will now take a break for the All-Star Game.
