Ogden • Former Weber State star Davion Berry will play for the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA's annual Las Vegas Summer League, which starts July 11.

Berry, a 6-foot-4 guard from Oakland, led Weber State to the Big Sky Conference's regular-season and post-season tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament.

Berry averaged 19.2 points and, after a two-year career, finished 15th on the Wildcats' all-time scoring list.

In Portland, Berry will be fighting for a roster spot on a team already featuring Damian Lillard, another Weber State product who has emerged as one of the NBA's most dynamic young stars.
