London • Eugenie Bouchard hopes fellow Canadian Justin Bieber is noticing her run to the Wimbledon final.

At the Australian Open in January, Bouchard received a good-luck tweet from the pop star after she bashfully admitted in an on-court interview that she'd like to go out on a date with him.

The 20-year-old Bouchard said Thursday after her semifinal win that she realized "he's kind of been in trouble recently ... but, you know, if he cleans up his image."

In June, Bieber apologized after a 5-year-old video surfaced showing the then-teenager telling a racist joke. It was the latest controversy for Bieber, whose brushes with the law have affected his wholesome image.
