Evanston, Wyo. • Long shot Auto Rotate prevailed in a blanket finish Saturday afternoon to win the $9,900 Wasatch Handicap at Wyoming Downs.

Owned and trained by Owen Udy, Auto Rotate was sent off at odds of 13-to-1 but defeated Steffiesclassic Dash by a nose in the 300-yard event. Whata Corona Runner, the 5-to-2 favorite in the wagering, finished sixth despite being beaten by only one-half length.

Ridden by Todd Thomas, Auto Rotate was timed in 15.856 seconds under jockey Todd Thomas. Winning for the seventh time in 33 starts, the winner's share of $5,940 bumped the Utah-bred gelding's career earnings to over $72,000.

Racing at Wyoming Downs resumes Sunday at 1 p.m.
