It isn't surprising that the Utah Jazz own most of Utah in the New York Times' new interactive NBA map, though a couple counties in the Beehive State lean toward the neighboring Nuggets.
The map, determined by Facebook likes, names Tooele County as the biggest fans of the Jazz with 52 percent of Facebook likes. Morgan and Salt Lake Counties followed closely behind with 50 percent and 48 percent, respectively.
However, San Juan and Grand Counties actually prefer the Denver Nuggets — Grand by a 28 to 14 percent margin. San Juan preferred at least the Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls over the Jazz.
As for neighboring states, the Jazz have a hold of White Pine and Lincoln Counties in Nevada, Sweetwater, Lincoln and Uinta Counties in Wyoming, and Oneida, Bannock, Bear Lake, Franklin, Power, Caribou and Bonneville Counties in Idaho.
Unsurprisingly, the Kobe Bryant-led Lakers and LeBron James-led Miami Heat hold large swaths of popularity all around the country. As for former Jazz man Deron Williams and the Brooklyn Nets, the team's former home in New Jersey has apparently switched allegiances to the New York Knicks, Lakers and Heat, with the Knicks dominating the state of New York as a whole.
