Ogden • Weber State assistant Kellen McCoy has left the Wildcat men’s basketball program to accept a job as the head coach at Mount St. Mary’s High School in Oklahoma City.

McCoy played two seasons at Weber State and, as a senior in 2008-09, was named the Big Sky Conference’s Most Valuable Player.

A native of Norman, Okla., McCoy joined coach Randy Rahe’s staff last year and helped lead the Wildcats to the Big Sky championship and berth in the NCAA tournament.

"We hate see Kellen go, but this is a good career opportunity for him and gets him closer to his family," Rahe said. "Kellen did a great job for us. We appreciate all his hard work and dedication to our program. He will always be a part of the Weber State family. We wish him nothing but the best in the future."
