Flier pokes fun at ‘missing’ D-Will

Call off the search party for Deron Williams.

Williams, the former Utah Jazz point guard and current highly paid Brooklyn Net, was chastised before the Nets-Toronto Raptors game 6 Friday night through a "missing person" flier outside the Nets arena.

The flier gave a description of Williams’ height, weight and date of birth below giant red letters that spelled out "MISSING" just above "Have you seen this person?" As an extra dig at the point guard, the flier insults his tattoos, his inflated contract and lists him as last seen "getting a legendary coach fired in Salt Lake City, UT," a nod to Jerry Sloan’s resignation in 2011 amid reported conflicts with Williams.

A photo of the flier can be seen here from Twitter user Michael Cummo:

To be fair, Williams was going through a slump, combining for only 23 points in the Nets’ game 4 and game 5 losses and an average of only about 13 points in Brooklyn’s three losses. However, he’s averaging 23 points in Brooklyn’s wins, including a 23-point, four-assist and five-rebound outing Friday night to send the series to a game 7. Might be time to take that flier down.
