The Utah men's tennis team opened the Pac-12 Championships with a 4-0 win over Arizona on Wednesday in Ojai, Calif. The Utes took the doubles point thanks to wins by the teams of Ben Tasevac and Devin Lane, and Slim Hamza and Cedric Willems. In singles, the U. got wins from Tasevac, Matt Cowley and Hamza to seal the victory. Utah advances to play No. 19 Cal on Thursday at noon.

Pacific 4, BYU 2 • Jacob Sullivan and Aidan Carrazedo won in singles, but it wasn't enough as Pacific bounced the Cougars from the West Coast tournament Wednesday in San Diego.

Nevada women 4, USU 0 • The Aggies were swept out of the Mountain West Championships in Fresno, Calif. USU's lone win came from freshmen Lexi Turley and Nini Guensler in doubles.

Softball

UVU 5-3, SUU 3-7 • In Orem, the Wolverines (14-34) and Thunderbirds (19-24) split Wednesday's doubleheader. In its Game 1 win, Utah Valley tied a school single-game record with four homers, all solo shots.

Boise State 11-10, USU 9-1 • The Broncos (26-19) swept the Aggies (17-27) in Logan. USU junior outfielder Hailey Froton went 3-for-6 in the doubleheader.
