Bakersfield, Calif. • Joel Broda of Bakersfield scored 7:39 into overtime Tuesday night, giving the Condors a 4-3 victory over Utah in Game 3 of a first-round ECHL playoff series.

Bakersfield grabbed a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series, which resumes Thursday with Game 4 at Rabobank Arena.

Bakersfield opened the scoring at 8:38 of the first period when Collin Bowman beat Utah goaltender Aaron Dell.

The Grizzlies wiped out the 1-0 deficit, however, with two goals in the final 3:22.

After Marty Lee scored the first power play goal of the series on assists by Charles Sarault and Danick Paquette, Jamie MacQueen drilled the puck past Condor goalie Laurent Brossoit with 1:55 remaining.

Bakersfield tied the game, 2-2, on Joe Marciano's goal only 90 seconds into the second period, but the Grizzlies regained the lead when Sarault scored his first goal of the playoffs at 16:35.

In the third period, the Condors tied the game once again on Greg Miller's goal with 4:30 left in regulation, setting the stage for Broda. —
