The flood of outgoing transfers continues for the Utah State basketball program, which finds itself with a thinning roster for next season.

Sophomore point guard Marcel Davis will transfer from the Aggies, his father Rodney Davis confirmed to The Salt Lake Tribune on Wednesday afternoon. Utah State has not yet announced the transfer, the fourth since the Aggies' 18-14 campaign ended in the Mountain West tournament loss to San Diego State.

An early commitment out of American Fork, Davis struggled this season to stay on the floor, going from starting several early-season games to being benched for stretches in conference play. He averaged 2.2 points and 2.6 assists in just over 15 minutes per game.

Reached for comment, Rodney Davis said his son was seeking new academic opportunities and a program with a different style.

Davis joins Danny Berger, Jordan Stone and Kyle Davis as players to elect to leave the program. Combined with five senior graduations, Utah State is losing 83 percent of its scoring.

Center Carson Shanks left Utah State at midseason during a redshirt freshman year.

Slated to return so far are freshmen Jalen Moore, Viko Noma'aea and JoJo McGlaston, as well as junior forward Ben Clifford. The Aggies signed four incoming 2014 prospects in the fall, as well as returned missionary David Collette, and have at least one spring commitment in Elston Jones.
