California defeated Utah 8-7 on Sunday in Berkeley, Calif., in a Pac-12 baseball game, beating the Utes by one run for the second straight day.

T.J. Bennett went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Utes (9-17, 0-9), who led 7-4 after rallying for five runs in the fifth inning.

Utah reliever Dalton Carroll (1-2) took the loss, giving up a run on two hits in two-thirds of an inning.

Softball

UCLA 4, Utah 1 • In Los Angeles, freshman first baseman Bridget Castro hit her fourth home run of the season, but the Utes lost to No. 1 UCLA in the Pac-12 game.

Utah starter Sammy Cordova (4-2) took the loss, yielding four earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts in six innings.

Fresno State 4, Utah State 3 • In Fresno, Calif., the Bulldogs beat the Aggies on a walk-off single in the seventh inning.
