The Utah Grizzlies’ four-game winning streak ground to a halt Wednesday night in Loveland, Colo., as the Colorado Eagles scored two late goals to break a scoreless tie.
With the win, Colorado (31-21-7-4) moved to within a half game of the Grizzlies (33-22-3-5) for the third spot in the Western Conference. Utah had beaten Colorado six straight times before the loss.
Grizzlies goalie Igor Bobkov, the reigning ECHL Goaltender of the Week, stopped 29 of the 30 shots that came his way. A.J. Hau scored Colorado’s first goal 5:24 into the third period; the Eagles added an empty-netter with six seconds to go.
