The No. 1 seed Westminster women's basketball team lost to No. 3 seed Wiley (Texas) 75-58 on Saturday in Frankfort, Ky., in the quarterfinals of the NAIA Division I national championship.

The Griffins (26-3) shot well (45.7 percent, including 40 percent on 3-pointers), but couldn't keep up with the hot-shooting Wildcats, who made 60 percent (33 of 55) of their shots from the field. Wiley (30-4) also forced Westminster into 21 turnovers.

Wiley, which advances into the NAIA semis for the first time in program history, was led by a game-high 23 points by Danisha Shaw.

Westminster senior forwards Kelsi Wells and Alli Blake scored 19 and 18 points, respectively.
