Ogden • New head coach Jay Hill opens his first spring practice at Weber State on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wildcats will conduct 15 practices leading up to the annual spring game on April 19, which will be played at Stewart Stadium beginning at 1 p.m.
Hill replaced coach Jody Sears after last season, when the Wildcats finished 2-10 overall and 1-7 in the Big Sky Conference.
"I’m really excited to get spring ball started," said Hill, who is a former assistant at the University of Utah. "We’ve had a great few months with winter conditioning and the players have been working hard. …
"We’re ready to get out on the field. I’m excited to see the development in several positions on offense and defense. Everyone on our team will have a fresh start — an opportunity to show what they can do."
Weber State opens the season Aug. 29 at Arizona State.
