State briefs: North Dakota baseball team beats Utah Valley

The University of North Dakota baseball team beat Utah Valley 10-4 on Sunday in Orem, handing the Wolverines a loss in their first Western Athletic Conference series.

Mark Krueger and Craig Brinkerhoff hit home runs for UVU (5-14, 1-2) in the loss.

Women’s tennis

USC 4, Utah 1 • Paige Miles scored the host Utes’ only point, beating USC’s Zoe Katz 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 5 singles match.

UTEP 4, Utah State 1 • In Boise, Idaho, the Aggies took the doubles point with victories by McKenzie Davis and Amber Stuhlmann, and Kallie Sperry and Ashley Stuhlmann.
