STARS 3, BLUES 2
ST. LOUIS • Jamie Benn scored 3:42 into overtime on Tuesday, giving the Dallas Stars a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues one night after teammate Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench.
Defensemen Alex Pietrangelo and Roman Polak ended lengthy goal droughts for the Blues, who lost for the first time in five games with new goalie Ryan Miller.
Colton Sceviour scored a power-play goal for Dallas in the first period. Sceviour and Chris Mueller were promoted after Peverley was sidelined indefinitely and teammate Alex Chiasson also was hospitalized due to emotional distress after his teammate's "cardiac event."
Miller robbed Mueller with a glove save from point-blank range with 2:16 to go in the third. But he couldn't corral a shot by Stars captain Benn that gave Dallas its fourth win in five games.
The Stars' home game against Columbus on Monday night was postponed after Peverley fell ill with a heart problem. Peverley remained hospitalized in stable condition on Tuesday while undergoing tests.

PENGUINS 2, CAPITALS 0
PITTSBURGH • Marc-Andre Fleury made 32 saves for his fifth shutout of the season, leading Pittsburgh over Washington.
Jussi Jokinen and Sidney Crosby scored for the Penguins, who swept the teams' home-and-home series one night after beating the Capitals 3-2 in Washington. Pittsburgh has won three in a row and picked up at least a point in eight of its last 10 games.
The Penguins also have beaten their longtime rivals a franchise-record eight straight times.
Jaroslav Halak stopped 32 shots in his third start for Washington. Alex Ovechkin was held without a point for the fourth consecutive game as the Capitals lost for the fourth time in five games.
Fleury tied his career high for shutouts in a season while winning his sixth straight start against the Capitals.

BLUE JACKETS 4, RED WINGS 1
COLUMBUS, Ohio • Boone Jenner and Brandon Dubinsky scored 40 seconds apart in the third period and Sergei Bobrovsky had 39 saves, leading Columbus to the victory against Detroit.
Nick Foligno and Derek MacKenzie also scored and Nathan Horton had two assists for the Blue Jackets, who have won five of six.
Columbus was playing one night after its game at Dallas was postponed in the first period when the Stars' Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench.
The Blue Jackets and Red Wings came in to this game tied with 71 points in the East and battling for playoff position.
Danny DeKeyser scored for the Red Wings, who went to third-string goalie Petr Mrazek when Jimmy Howard couldn't play because of the flu. Mrazek stopped 33 shots.

SHARKS 6, MAPLE LEAFS 2
SAN JOSE, Calif. • Joe Pavelski had two goals and an assist and passed the 400-point milestone for his career to lead San Jose to its third straight victory, topping Toronto.
Tommy Wingels also scored, had a second goal waved off, delivered a bone-crushing check, and got into a fight for the Sharks, who moved within two points of Anaheim for first place in the Pacific Division. Brent Burns, Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Marty Havlat added goals. Antti Niemi made 19 saves.
Jake Gardiner scored twice for the Maple Leafs, who looked worn down one night after an emotional 3-1 win over the Ducks in coach Randy Carlyle's return to Anaheim. James Reimer made 42 saves.
Pavelski scored San Jose's final two goals to give him 34 for the season.

OILERS 4, WILD 3, SO
ST. PAUL, Minn. • Taylor Hall scored in the fourth round of the shootout to lift Edmonton over Minnesota.
Hall beat Darcy Kuemper with a forehand after each team scored in the first two rounds of the shootout. Viktor Fasth stopped two straight shots before Hall slipped the game-winner between Kuemper's pads.
Zach Parise, Jared Spurgeon, and Jason Pominville scored in a 4-minute, 16-second span of the first period to put the Wild up 3-0.
Jeff Petry got the Oilers on the scoreboard about 90 seconds after the Wild's flurry, and David Perron and Jordan Eberle scored in the third period to tie it. Andrew Ference had two assists.

DEVILS 2, FLYERS 1
PHILADELPHIA • Jaromir Jagr scored a tiebreaking goal in the third period, leading New Jersey to the victory against Philadelphia.
Travis Zajac had the other goal for New Jersey (29-24-13), which won for the fifth in seven games to move within two points of the third-place Flyers in the tightly bunched Metropolitan Division.
Adam Henrique was held in check by the Flyers, and his six-game goal streak was snapped. Henrique had nine goals and two assists during that run.
Nicklas Grossman scored for the Flyers (33-25-7), who are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. Philadelphia had a potential tying goal by Scott Hartnell disallowed by officials with 40.1 seconds remaining because it was determined that Hartnell pushed goalie Martin Brodeur into the net.

HURRICANES 3, RANGERS 1
RALEIGH, N.C. • Jordan Staal and Jiri Tlusty both had a goal and an assist, and Carolina snapped its 10-game losing streak against the New York Rangers.
Elias Lindholm added an insurance goal for Carolina late in the third period. Cam Ward made 24 saves for his first win since Dec. 31.
Kevin Klein had the Rangers' goal, scoring for the first time since being acquired from Nashville on Jan. 22. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 32 shots.
The Rangers had outscored the Hurricanes 40-19 in the teams' previous 10 meetings, including a 4-2 road victory on Friday. Carolina also snapped New York's six-game winning streak in Raleigh.
The Rangers, 8-4-1 in their past 13 games, remained one point ahead of Philadelphia for second place in the Metropolitan Division.

PREDATORS 4, SABRES 1
BUFFALO, N.Y. • Shea Weber had a goal and an assist, and Nashville earned its second straight road win by beating Buffalo.
Nick Spaling, Craig Smith and Paul Gaustad also scored for Nashville, which got 24 saves from Carter Hutton.
Drew Stafford scored for Buffalo, which has lost three in a row.
Hutton staved off a Buffalo attack that controlled possession and outshot Nashville 11-5 in the second period on the way to a 25-24 advantage for the game.

COYOTES 3, PANTHERS 1
SUNRISE, Fla. • Radim Vrbata had a goal and two assists, powering Phoenix to a road win over Florida.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Mike Ribeiro also scored for the Coyotes. Mike Smith made 31 saves.
Brandon Pirri scored and Roberto Luongo stopped 23 shots for the Panthers.
Phoenix won its second consecutive road game for the first time since Nov. 27 and Dec. 3.
Florida has lost 10 of 13. The Panthers have only six goals in the last four games.
