Weber State basketball: Davion Berry named Big Sky Conference’s MVP

Ogden • Weber State’s Davion Berry was named the Big Sky Conference’s Most Valuable Player on Monday, the league office announced.

Berry averages 19.2 points and four assists per game heading into the Big Sky postseason tournament, which begins Thursday at the Dee Events Center. The senior from Oakland has reached double figures in 26 of 28 games this season.

The Big Sky also honored Weber State’s Jeremy Senglin and Joel Bolomboy.

Senglin, who is from Arlington, Texas, was named the Freshman of the Year. He has started all 28 games this season. He was the first true freshman to start a season-opener for the Wildcats since 1976.

Bolomboy, a sophomore from Fort Worth, Texas, was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year. He leads the Big Sky in rebounding (10.9).
