Derrick Favors' injury has changed a few times over the season. It's been a hip sprain, a sore hip, an inflamed hip and, most recently, a sprained hip.

But one thing has remained constant: The Jazz are winless when he doesn't play. With Favors missing his seventh game in the Jazz's last 13 on Saturday, Utah fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves and dropped to 0-9 on the year in games without Favors.

"I think everyone is confident in each other's abilities but what Derrick brings to the table, this team really misses when he's not here," said forward Marvin Williams. "He's an anchor. He's a great rebounder. He's a great one-on-one defender. He's also a great help-side defender. Derrick has always been there to save the day. But, obviously, when he's not back there, it's been difficult."

The other side of the Burke trade

Trey Burke wore a Timberwolves hat for a few minutes on Draft night before his trade to the Utah Jazz was officially announced.

On Saturday, Jazz fans got a glimpse of the two players Utah swapped to get the point guard from Michigan.

And they didn't look too bad.

Forward Shabazz Muhammed scored 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while center Gorgui Dieng had 8 and 8.

"They knew they were both going to play," Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman said. "[We told them] to just stay within themselves. Got to get better every game, go to your strengths and don't try to do things you can't do. G [Dieng] just has to learn. He gets out of position sometimes and puts himself in tough positions and fouls, but he rebounded the ball well. I'm glad he got an extended run in the fourth quarter, because that's going to help him."

Bad Brad

Celtics coach Brad Stevens did something Saturday that nobody, not Gordon Hayward or anybody else, had seen him do before. The former Butler boss got himself tossed from Saturday night's game in Sacramento, a 105-989 loss for Boston, for arguing with an official. The Celtics will be in Salt Lake City on Monday. —
