After rallying to tie the game in the eighth inning, the University of Utah baseball team gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth to lose at Sacramento State 5-4 on Sunday.

Tyler Yagi led off the top of the eighth with a double and was driven in on AJ Young's single to tie the game for the Utes (1-2). But the Hornets (2-1) got two infield singles and benefited from an error in the bottom of the ninth for the winning run.

SLCC 12, Prairie Baseball Academy 4 • The Bruins (6-4) won their finale at the Coyote Slug-Out in Las Vegas.

Softball

Weber State 8, Northern Colorado 3 • Jasmine Ioane hit a two-run homer to lead the Wildcats (6-4) to a victory in their final game at the Troy Cox Classic in Las Cruces, N.M.

UC Riverside 5, Southern Utah 2 • Kadi Henderson hit a two-run double, but those would be the only runs for the Thunderbirds (1-8) in their final game of the Fresno State Kick-Off.

Utah Valley • The Wolverines (0-10) lost two games at the Easton Desert Classic in Las Vegas, falling to Ohio State 8-0 and Boise State 8-1.
